This fascinating hobby is something I got involved in by accident one day in August 1998. On that fateful day I joined LA1K Akademisk Radioklubb, and I have not ever since regretted it for one moment. Today I am an avid radio amateur.
In december 1999 I finally got my operator's licence, and my callsign is now LA4SKA. For half a year before that, I had a 'B' class licence, LB8KE. The 'B' licence has restrictions on power, and mode in the HF bands (CW only).
As yet, I haven't been much on the air, but now that I have a decent license I expect that to improve dramatically. I have participated for LA1K in several contests, among others the 1999 CQWW WPX CW contest, during which I took several pictures.
